LATEST DEARNESS ALLOWANCE NOTIFICATION: CENTRAL GOVERNMENT DECLARATIONS ABOUT DA

DA HIKE 11%
The DA hike for central government employees was pending since January 1, 2020. and due to the Second wave of Covid-19 the DA hike has been delayed by almost one month. Since the DA hike was expected to be around April 2021 end, has been declared in July 2021.

    Like the Minister of state in Finance Ministry, Sh. Anurag Thakur said, the rate of DA increase effective from  01-01-2020, 01-07-2020, 01-01-2021 would be subsumed cumulatively in 01-07-2021 revision of DA. Meanwhile, No arrear will be provided to employee for the period between January 2020 to June 2021.

Since, till now, Central Government employee were getting 17% of DA, after the declaration of DA increase by the FM, now it will be 28%. So from now onwards (July 2021) Total 11% increased DA will be there.

During March 2020, an increase of 4% DA was declared, and it was though expected that the Central Government employees will get  17+4=21% DA, but due to ongoing pandemic situation, DA was continued to be 17%.

So, the overall summary is: 28% of Dearness Allowance to the Central Government Employee and Dearness Relief for the pensioners has been approved by the Cabinet.
